Feedback and Marking
We would like to share with you our exciting new approach to the way we feedback to children. Traditional marking practices versus verbal feedback, pupil conferencing and reflective activities are hot topics in the education sector at the moment. As a staff we have been undertaking a great deal of research to inform our decision making and future course of action.
We have made some big and exciting decisions about the way children are informed of their learning and progress, how they are given next steps and ultimately how they make progress day to day. As mentioned above, our decisions are based heavily on research all of which points towards a new and more current approach. ‘The most powerful feedback [we can] give to pupils is that given at the point of the work being done.’ Jemima Rhys-Evans & Sarah Field.
